Somatic Fascia Restructuring Private Lessons

During our eight-week program you will discover your body’s natural holistic connection through the biotensegrity of the fascial body. You will be guided though simple movement patterns that will allow you to reestablish the integrity of your fascia body. Each session will be carefully designed for your specific needs.

Fascia creates an internal integrity by creating a consistent tension for the structures within the body. The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a series of separate structures, but rather one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption.

Bryson created S.F.R. after many years of training in various traditions and realizing the complementary principals they all shared. His approach focuses on restoring the elasticity of the fascia body and developing a holistic perspective so that freedom of movement is achieved.

Somatic Meditation

Monday Evenings 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm EDT

Our Somatic Meditation class is based on the body-mind relationship. All of our courses are interrelated, our meditation course reinforces our movement classes. The information and skills learned in meditation are immediately transferable to movement. In mediation we get the opportunity to focus on aspects of the body-mind relationship that we wouldn’t ordinarily due to the complex and subtle nature of the mind. This practice will allow you to develop your ability to integrate your body and mind. When the body and mind are integrated this is called embodiment.

Buddhist Science of Mind

The foundation of Buddhist study is based on the understanding of Mind. This course encapsulates the fundamentals of the tradition of pramana, authentic knowing, called Lorik: Classifications of Mind, which is a staple of all monastic education systems. This text analyzes the mind in multiple ways which brings out the deeper understanding of awareness that is at the heart of the path of Buddhism, and provides definitions for each of these as well as the ways that minds engage with their objects.
At the completion of the Buddhist Psychology course, students will have a deeper foundation on which they can continue to develop their practice and study. Should participants wish to continue studying at Vidya Method, then the completion of this course will open to the door to the many other offerings in the ‘Foundation of Buddhist Thought’ series.

Somatic Fascia Restructuring

The BioTensegrity of the Fascia Body

Thursdays 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm EDT

This is an interactive course. We explore tensegrity by creating models, in somatic movement, and through group discussions. Biotensegrity describes a relationship between every part of an organism and the various systems that integrate them into a complete functional unit. Biotensegrity is an energy-efficient arrangement that relies on the inherent tensions of the fascial body. A constantly changing system in process that enables holistic, efficient, movement.

To experience the body as a Biotensegrity takes time and practice. We must understand this model conceptually, experientially, and then contemplate it in Somatic practice. Time spent making and observing tensegrity models revels how every part of the structure is integrated into a complete functioning unit which then makes it possible to integrate Somatically.
